Brussels | Must-Visit Fin de Siècle

The taste of beer-braised beef is so familiar that I almost forgot I was in Brussels! 🍖 When I arrived at Fin de Siècle, the trendy spot everyone’s raving about on XHS and G Station, I expected a long wait. But surprisingly, I was seated in less than 15 minutes! 🕰️ The menu is written on a blackboard, and they hand you a drink menu first. 📝 I ordered the must-try Belgian national dish, Carbonades à la Bière (beer-braised beef), which is also a classic from Northern France. 🍽️ Think of it as the “sister” dish to Burgundy beef stew, but instead of wine, this one uses dark beer. The beef melts in your mouth, and while I’ve had it many times before, it still feels like a comfort food. The mashed potatoes that come with it are generous in portion, and dipping them in the stew’s sauce makes them even better! 🥄 Oh, and I wanted to try the Peach beer, but the waiter recommended Chimay instead. He seemed puzzled why everyone asks for Peach beer! 🍻 Overall, the service was great. I heard that half the crowd here is usually Chinese, but today there were only a few Chinese tables. And FYI, they only accept cash when you pay the bill. 💸 Fin de Siècle is definitely worth the visit! #HiddenGems #BeerBraisedBeef #findesiecle #BrusselsCuisine #FoodWithoutBorders #RestaurantRecommendation #BrusselsEats #BrusselsFoodie #BrusselsFoodGuide #Belgium
