Brutalism & Futurism
The Slovak National Uprising Museum was established in 1969. It is located in the center of a park, which also features an open - air museum displaying the heavy military equipment used by the Slovak National Party.😍😍😍 The building is symbolically divided into two parts connected by a bridge. Under the bridge, in the chapel of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, an eternal flame burns. There is also a uniquely shaped sculpture (more details to be added). The museum’s architect is Dušan Kuzma.😊😊😊 The structure is situated on the southwestern edge of the historical center of Banská Bystrica. Near the park’s entrance, there is an airplane that was once used by the Třebíč airport in Sliac to supply guerrillas with provisions.🪷🪷🪷 The museum is dedicated to documenting the development of Slovak society during the war years of 1938 to 1945. Its exhibitions and archives focus on materials related to the anti - fascist national struggle for freedom and the Slovak National Uprising.❤️❤️❤️ Architect: Dušan Kuzma Sculptor: Jozef Jankovič Year of Construction: 1969 Location: Banská Bystrica, Slovakia Photographer: Slovak Tourism Official Website #BrutalistArchitecture #Concrete #ArchitecturalDesign #Museum #Sculpture #Futurism #Brutalism #Slovakia #Anti #SovietAesthetics
