Buffalo Little Yellow Hat Tour Guide is Online
Buffalo Little Yellow Hat Tour Guide is Online! 🧢✨ It’s not just Niagara Falls or the Eternal Flame — Buffalo’s charm goes way beyond its natural scenery. As an arts management student, I’ve gotta share some artsy recommendations. At least from now on, no one can call Buffalo a “barren city”… because this place was once truly glorious. 🏙️🎨 🏠 Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House My favorite spot in all of Buffalo! Darwin D. Martin, a business tycoon, commissioned Frank Lloyd Wright to design this home for his family. Wright blended indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly, and every detail inside is worth admiring. The house is over 120 years old and is now a historic site. It’s so well preserved that tours inside are guided — about an hour long — with experts explaining the design and history. (And yes — it’s super photogenic! The house and its interior garden are breathtaking.) 📌 Tip: Book tickets in advance. Several tour packages are available to suit different interests. 🎫 Admission: $25 adults | $10 students 📍 *125 Jewett Pkwy, Buffalo, NY 14214* 🖼️ AKG Art Museum Even though Buffalo is often seen as a faded industrial city, the AKG is a powerhouse of an art museum. Its collection includes works by Gauguin, Picasso, Monet, and Andy Warhol — true giants of modern art. During the pandemic, AKG underwent a major renovation and even added a new building (funded by generous donations — Buffalo still has its share of old money!). The museum has a clear focus on modern and contemporary art — so much so that they controversially sold off artworks from other periods to strengthen that vision (a bold and debated move in the art world). ☕ The museum also has a café, a Lego room, and a gift shop that sells Jellycat plushies! 🎫 Admission: $22 adults | $20 college students | $10 children 📍 *1285 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14222* 🏛️ Buffalo History Museum Nothing tells a city’s story better than its history museum. This one’s compact but rich. The lower level hosts rotating art exhibits — currently a display of political cartoons by Adam Zyglis. The first floor tells the story of the Pan-American Exposition, held when Buffalo thrived thanks to the Erie Canal. The museum building itself is the only structure still standing from that 1901 world’s fair — which drew over 8 million visitors and was the site of a U.S. president’s assassination. ⚾ The second floor covers Buffalo’s sports history on one side and offers a thorough timeline of the city’s development since its founding on the other. Plan about an hour to take it all in. 🎫 *Admission: Pay-what-you-wish (suggested $12)* 📍 *1 Museum Ct, Buffalo, NY 14216* So next time someone says there’s nothing to do in Buffalo… you’ll know exactly where to send them. This city’s artistic and historical soul is alive, well, and waiting to be explored. 💛📚 #BuffaloNY#ArtLovers#FrankLloydWright#AKGMuseum#HistoryBuff#TravelGuide#MuseumHopping#StudentTravel#HiddenGems
