ca At the Korean Chinese restaurant in Toronto

Downtown has been missing proper Korean-Chinese restaurants for years — most closed, so if we craved good jjajangmyeon or jjamppong, we had to go up north… Until recently! A new spot opened months ago in Koreatown, and I’ve been watching. Finally brought my Korean boyfriend (a jjajangmyeon expert 😏) to test it out! 📍 Gyodong 694 Bloor St W, Toronto Even on a rainy Monday, it was busy—and full of Koreans! 🌧️👌 Classic jjajangmyeon is only $9.99. Loved the noodles—not your typical yellow noodles, but super smooth and chewy. Definitely a unique recipe! The sauce was legit too—very close to Beijing Sung’s level! I noticed many tables ordered the spicy seafood noodle soup (jjamppong) 🌶️. Definitely trying that next time! Only $13.99 a bowl + FREE RICE REFILLS to enjoy with the soup. So worth it lol 😂 We also got the sweet and sour pork (tangsuyuk). Huge portion, very crispy… but the coating was a bit too hard for my taste. Not the best I’ve had. IMO — just come for the jjajangmyeon and jjamppong!!! Since I’ve tried almost all Korean-Chinese spots in Toronto, here’s my personal ranking 🏆: 1️⃣ Beijing Sung 2️⃣ Poong Moon 3️⃣ Iryewon / Sunny Dragon (tie) 4️⃣ Jjajang 1980 / Paik’s Noodle (tie) 5️⃣ Gyodong But honestly — all are worth trying! #TorontoFood #KoreanChinese #KoreatownTO
