Calgary, Canada | Sorella Trattoria – Hidden Gem for Italian Cuisine 🇮🇹✨

Another great spot for a girls’ outing and photo session! The vibe here is clean and cozy, with a focus on homestyle Italian dishes that are both photogenic and delicious. The pasta gets a thumbs up! 🍝📸 The weather has been absolutely amazing lately, sunny and bright. We enjoyed our lunch here with sunlight streaming in, creating a perfect ambiance. ☀️🌟 The portions might look small, but they’re perfect for sharing (pasta and pizza are generously sized). 🐙 Polpo (Grilled Octopus): Grilled octopus with a sprinkle of fried chili and olives (not very spicy). Although I’m not a fan of spicy food, I tried to avoid the chilies. Many reviews recommended this, but I found it quite average. The octopus was tender but lacked seasoning—just lightly salted and then grilled. If you love tender octopus but don’t mind a plain taste, go for this. ✅ 🥦 Broccoletti (Roasted Broccoli): Topped with Roman chili sauce, chili honey, and crushed almonds. The broccoli was roasted to perfection with a savory, slightly charred flavor. This was definitely better than the octopus! It has a stronger flavor profile and the chili adds a nice kick (but not too spicy). It’s great with other dishes to balance the flavors. Highly recommend! ✅ 🍝 Pappardelle: Classic red sauce with a mix of pork and beef, paired with mascarpone cheese, and topped with Grana Padano cheese (that huge, round cheese). This dish was a pleasant surprise! The pasta was perfectly cooked with a nice bite, and the red sauce wasn’t heavy. They use fresh pasta here. Highly recommend this one! ✅ 🍕 Funghi Pizza: Recommended by the staff, this signature pizza features classic toppings of roasted mushrooms, cheese, Italian balsamic vinegar, and arugula. The pizza was thin and had a lovely cheesy flavor. The balsamic vinegar gave it a slight tang reminiscent of takoyaki sauce, but it wasn’t overwhelming. Traditional Italian pizza rarely disappoints. 🍕✨ I initially had low expectations due to mixed reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be a great place for a chat, photos, and delicious food. #Calgary #CalgaryLife #CalgaryEats #CalgaryDining #Brunch #AmbianceRestaurant #GlobalFoodieSquad
