Camping with Your Pup on One of Georgian Bay’s 30,000 Islands! 🌲

Just 1.5 hours from Toronto, we took our dog on his first camping trip to Georgian Bay—and it was even better than expected! The drive was easy, cell service was surprisingly good, and the peaceful setting made it perfect for first-time campers and dog owners alike. 🌲 Trails & Adventures Our campsite was in Honeymoon Bay, with easy access to: • Fairy Trail & Cambrian Trail: Scenic walks passing Goblin Lake & Fairy Lake—great for quick swims! • Island Hopping: With 30,000+ islands in Georgian Bay Islands National Park, you can paddleboard, kayak, or even swim between them! 🚤 Getting There • Day Trippers: Take the Day Tripper boat (departs from Georgian Bay Islands National Park) for hiking, swimming, and beach fun. • Campers: Book a water taxi (we used Honey Harbour Boat Club Marina) for $170 round trip—they drop you, your gear, and your pup right at your site! ⛺️ Campsite Review We booked HO-01 (a backcountry site via Parks Canada): ✔ HO-01: Best lake views but near a shared cooking shelter (less privacy). ✔ HO-02: More trees for hanging gear but no lake views. ✔ HO-03-11: More secluded but fewer lake vistas (watch for poison ivy at 03!). 🎒 Packing Tips Since the water taxi carries everything, we packed like car camping—bring comforts like: • Extra blankets 🛌 • A portable stove 🍳 • Plenty of dog treats 🦴 (Campsites have outhouses & bear-proof lockers!) 📸 Pup-Approved Highlights • Morning swims with our dog 🐕💦 • Sunset paddles around the islands 🌅🚣♀️ • Cozy campfire nights under the stars 🔥✨ #DogFriendlyCanada #CampWithYourDog #GoldenRetrieverLife #OntarioCamping #ExploreGeorgianBay #TorontoWeekend #SummerWaterFun #CanadianAdventures #NationalParks
