Canada Seafood and Steak Feast β A Travel Highlight π₯ΉβοΈ
Whalesbone Ottawa's Escapade has left me speechless, but looking back at the seafood and steak feast at Whalesbone still leaves me utterly satisfied! With its dark brown wood tones, dim lighting, and barn boards and deer heads on the walls, it feels like a Western cowboy's bar where you'd come after a hunt. But the food is surprisingly exquisite and delicious, creating a delightful contrast! π¦π Food Rating: 4.5/5 Seafood Platter (Hot) - $135 On a rainy, chilly day, seeing their hot and cold seafood platters priced at $135 each was quite a treat. The hot seafood platter was unexpectedly amazing! Nothing felt like filler. The bacon-wrapped scallops were savory and delicious! The lobster roll was fresh and delightful. The Argentinian red shrimp were large and flavorful. The mussels were rich and tasty with a hint of wine! The Bayou-style fried fish cakes with lime aioli were creamy without being heavy. π¦π¦π¦ Caesar Salad + Anchovy - $21 + $5 The extra $5 for anchovies was the only disappointment... Anchovies can make or break a Caesar salad. When fresh, they can elevate the dish, but when off, they can ruin it. Unfortunately, these were quite fishy. However, the Caesar salad itself was still good. π₯ Oysters - $45 We ordered a dozen, six each from the East Coast and West Coast. The East Coast oysters were sweet, while the West Coast ones were creamy! Both were incredibly fresh and delightful. π¦ͺπ§ Dessert The chocolate mousse was rich and silky β absolutely loved it! The carrot cake, however, was a bit too sweet for my taste. π«π° #OttawaEats #OttawaSteak #CanadianStudentLife #Escapade #CanadianCuisine #TorontoStudying #CanadaLiving #FoodReview #OttawaFood
