Cape Town restaurants

Cape Town is definitely an underrated city with extremely high cost-performance ratio when it comes to food! This time I came to 🇿🇦 also for my boyfriend's brother's wedding. The bride is a local from Cape Town and his brother has lived here for two years as well. They recommended some must-try restaurants to us. I've chosen 6 restaurants that really impressed me (divided into two parts), ranging from fine dining, ethnic specialties to brunch. If you come to Cape Town and don't know what to eat or where to go, this is enough. Recommendation one👇 📍Fyn Restaurant, with a Google rating of 4.8 This is a creative cuisine restaurant that combines African and Japanese dishes. In 2022, it was ranked among the top5 0 best restaurants in the world (37th place). We went there for lunch and chose their 5-course lunch menu. What impressed me most was the Hokkaido milk bread with roasted mushroom custard sauce, local octopus fried rice and Namibian prawn tempura. We also ordered a strawberry mochi fizz special cocktail, which was both photogenic and delicious. 💰For two people, including tips, it was just over $100. Recommendation two👇 📍 Codfather Seafood & Sushi, with a Google rating of 4.5 This is a very famous seafood restaurant in Camps Bay. After entering, you can choose the ingredients you want at the seafood counter, and the restaurant will cook them in the most delicious way. The seafood here did not disappoint us. The grilled scallops and butter fish were tender and fresh, so delicious that we ordered another plate. 💰For two people, including tips, it was around $90. Recommendation three👇 📍GOLD Restaurant, with a Google rating of 4.5 This is the most unique restaurant we've been to in Cape Town. The bride's family and my boyfriend's brother chose this place to treat relatives the day before the wedding. The menu is a fixed 14 courses, mainly featuring meats from various parts of Africa, all prepared in authentic African ways. There was a dish of Mozambican peri-peri chicken wings, which were the best chicken wings I've ever had. In the middle of the restaurant, there was a stage where performers taught the guests how to play drums and dance African ethnic dances, creating a great atmosphere. The waiters were dressed in ethnic costumes, and there was even a lady who could paint tribal-style face paint on your face. Remember to book in advance, a week ahead is recommended, as this place is very popular. 💰The 14-course menu plus the immersive experience cost less than $30 per person on average. #SouthAfricatravel #CapeTowntravel #CapeTowntravelguide #CapeTownrestaurants #CapeTownsightseeing #SouthAfricancuisine #SouthAfricatravel #SouthAfricatravelguide
