Carnival Panorama: 7-Day Cruise Along Mexico's West Coast

The second port of call on our cruise was Mazatlán—a lesser-known gem that surprisingly became our favorite among the three stops. As we sailed into port, we spotted a cargo ship from Yancheng, China, delivering Chinese-made cars—a cool sight! 🚢🇨🇳 After disembarking, we followed the painted trail on the ground (no GPS needed!) straight to the Catedral Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción in the historic center. The 30-minute walk was delightful: clean streets, charming houses with well-tended gardens, and even police patrols and friendly volunteers offering directions—proof of the city’s commitment to tourism. 🌿👮♂️ At the cathedral square, we fed pigeons 🕊️, then popped into the City Hall (yes, again!) for a restroom break. The vibe reminded me of old Chinese government compounds—bustling offices, queues outside every door, and one room packed with parents holding newborns (likely for birth registrations). Next, we took an Uber to the cliffs—Clavadistas and Corazón de Mazatlán—where the ocean views were stunning, and the breeze was gentle. We eyed the tempting street tacos but chickened out. 😅 After cliff-gazing, we could’ve Ubered north to stroll the Malecón (seafront promenade), but the heat wore out our kiddo and grandparents, so we headed back to the ship. Personally? I’d have loved to explore further—next time! #Mazatlan #MexicoCruise #TravelDiaries
