Casablanca Food Guide: Delicious & Affordable! 🦞
Casablanca completely changed my perspective on Morocco! My last trip to Marrakech left me with a bad impression—dirty, chaotic, and full of scams. But Casablanca? A food paradise! Cheap, delicious, and full of variety. Plus, the city is way more relaxed—perfect for a chill vacation. 🦞 MUST-EAT SEAFOOD 1. Marché Central – Fresh & Cheap! 📍 Address: Bd Mohammed V, Casablanca 20250 🕒 Hours: Until 4 PM (go early!) 💰 Processing fee: ~20 MAD (€2) per dish 🍽 Best picks: Oysters (🦪): 8 MAD each (huge & fresh!) Grilled fish, shrimp, crab – pick your catch, get it cooked on the spot! ⚠ Tip: Check the processing options before buying—some stalls only grill, while others do sauces & spices. 2. Restaurant El Gousto 🇪🇸 Spanish-style seafood – paella, grilled octopus, garlic shrimp. No-fail menu, but service is slow as a dial-up connection 😅. 🍲 MOROCCAN CUISINE 1. Dar Dada 📍 Hidden in the medina, this place is vibes + flavor. Must-order: Lamb tajine, couscous. Nightlife: Belly dancers interact with every table—super fun! 💰 Price: ~20€ per main (affordable for the experience). 2. La Sqala Garden setting, classic Moroccan dishes. 🥩 MEAT LOVERS? SOO BEEF! Open all day – perfect for late cravings. Must-try: Tomahawk steak, T-bone, beef carpaccio. Service: Surprisingly excellent! 🍰 SWEET FINALE 1. Pâtisserie Bennis 📍 Habous Quarter – traditional Moroccan pastries. MVP: The almond-filled horn (see my pic!). 2. Oliveri Maârif 🍦 Rich, buttery flavor – no artificial junk here! Vintage staircase = perfect photo spot. ☕ DRINKS YOU CAN’T MISS Mint tea (MVP!) – we drank it every meal. Avocado smoothies – thick, creamy, and fresh. #CasablancaEats #MoroccoFoodie #SeafoodLover
