Central American Gem: El Salvador

Currently in Peru, here's a catch-up travelogue and mini-guide for El Salvador from a few days ago. πŸŒ‹ The Land of Volcanoes: El Salvador Once known as the murder capital of the world, El Salvador has transformed, and its people are now incredibly friendly and nice. It's also the first country in the world to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender. Some neighborhoods are quite beautiful and well-maintained. However, public transportation can be a bit unfriendly to tourists. There's no public transit information on Google, so we relied entirely on asking locals for directions πŸ˜‚. Of course, Uber in San Salvador is also very cheap, so using it the whole time isζ―«ζ— εŽ‹εŠ›. If you decide to take the bus, it's very cheap from the airport to downtown, about 0.6 USD (El Salvador uses USD), and a regular bus ride is around 0.3 USD. To get from the airport to downtown, take bus number 138. See the last photo for the pickup location. To go from downtown to the airport, the pickup location is at Centro (it seems all buses are here), behind the library built with Chinese aid. 🏞 Attractions: There aren't any particularly special attractions in downtown San Salvador. You can visit the Plaza de la Libertad, the library built with Chinese πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³ aid, El BoquerΓ³n National Park to see the volcanic crater, and Planes de Renderos Lookout for night views (which aren't that impressive πŸ˜‚). That's about it. πŸ“š Visa Information: US visa holders can enter visa-free and must pay a 12 USD entry fee. Upon entry, they asked for my return ticket. I didn't have one, but with some sincere communication, the customs officer let me in and granted me 180 days. πŸ€” Will I visit this country again? Maybe, if I pass by πŸ˜‚. #ElSalvador #CentralAmerica #Travel
