🏰 Centuries of History | Vintage Shops Galore in This London Alley

Cecil Court has gained quite a reputation online, often being referred to as "The new booksellers’ row" in London. If we look back in time, it had an old name, Flicker Alley. This was because, in the early days of the British film industry, more than 40 companies related to cinema were gathered here. Interestingly, Diagon Alley from Harry Potter was also inspired by this very alley. Cecil Court has been around since the late 17th century and has remained the domain of the Cecil family to this day.🏰 This street is brimming with independent bookstores, such as the previously mentioned Tender Books, and there's even an Alice in Wonderland themed bookstore where you can find some rare first editions and out-of-print treasures. There's also a shop specializing in vintage children's books with a window display that feels like Christmas all year round, creating a magical atmosphere. In addition to bookstores, this place is home to many small antique shops selling everything from badges and coins to maps. 📍: Cecil Court #LondonLife
