Challenge: Eating at 100 Restaurants in Halifax (5/100)
🍴: 2 Doors Down 📌 1533 Barrington St, Halifax, NS B3J 1Z6 Appetizers: Biscuit - $5 for two 🥧 Sooo delicious!!! Tasted just like the ones my homestay family used to make. The dipping sauce was buttery with a hint of sweetness. If I hadn’t ordered a main, I could’ve devoured several more! Seafood Chowder - $18 🍲 Packed with shrimp, mussels (a bit fishy😬), scallops, cod, and more. One of the best seafood chowders I’ve tried! Highly recommend (except for the slightly fishy mussels—everything else was great!). Mains: We ordered two mains: one pasta 🍝 and one burger. Compared to the appetizers, the mains were just okay. Chicken Parmesan - $27 🍝 Not much meat, overall a bit bland. Some might not like the creamy sauce, but I thought it was alright—my friend wasn’t a fan though. Old School Smash Burger - $20 🍔 The burger was pretty average, nothing special. We added Parmesan to the fries—still just okay. But their mini burgers during Burger Week were pretty fun! Service: Meh… It wasn’t even busy, but we waited quite a while. Felt like the server was overwhelmed but also kinda forgot about us? 😅 Ambience: Not bad—decent vibe, though the decor feels a bit dated. Today’s special was salmon for $25, and the table next to us seemed to really enjoy it! Overall, I’d go back for the seafood chowder! Do you guys know any other places in town with amazing seafood chowder? I used to love Tempo Food + Drink’s, but it’s not the same since they changed chefs 😢 #FoodReview #HalifaxEats #HalifaxFood #NovaScotia #HalifaxLife #CanadianFood #SeafoodLover #Foodie #HalifaxTourism 🍴✨
