Checking In at an All-You-Can-Eat Japanese Restaurant
I’ve always assumed Ohio was a food desert, but never did I expect to find such a great Japanese restaurant here! It’s even an all-you-can-eat spot with sushi and sashimi—totally changed my perception 🤩! I stumbled upon this place on Yelp. I went for dinner, and it was around $31.99 per person. If you’re not super into sashimi, lunch might be a better deal for your wallet 💰~ What I love most about this restaurant is, first, the portion size per serving is perfect for individuals, so no waste. Second, the selection is insanely wide! From mouthwatering fried foods and smoky grilled dishes to warm soups (both sweet and two savory options), fresh sushi, sashimi, cold appetizers, even hibachi and desserts—you might get decision fatigue 😆! Pro tip: Don’t rush to order hibachi first. Otherwise, your stomach will be full of noodles, and you won’t have room for other delicious food—total loss alert ⚠️! Dish Rating Breakdown! Fried Foods ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A solid five stars, highly recommended! All hot foods are kept under heat lamps, so they’re still piping hot when you pick them up—pure happiness 🔥! The tempura shrimp is crispy on the outside and tender inside, with a satisfying crunch when you bite into it, and the shrimp meat is super bouncy. The fried fish fillet is also amazing, completely non-fishy and incredibly fresh. The only minor letdown is the calamari rings; the batter is a bit thick, which slightly dulls the texture, but overall, it’s still fantastic 👍! Grilled Dishes + Snacks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another five-star winner! The takoyaki (octopus balls) are so delicious—I even grabbed 8 in a row and still wanted more 🥹! Each one has 2-4 pieces of real octopus inside, and they’re pretty big. If you can’t eat too many starchy foods, remember to control your portions and don’t overindulge! Also, highly recommend the grilled scallops—they’re huge, and they burst with juice in your mouth, so fresh it’ll make your taste buds sing. Everyone who tries them will praise them 👏! Sushi + Sashimi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This section is relatively average but still worth trying. My favorite sushi is the eel and avocado roll (probably the dragon roll)—the sweet aroma of eel pairs with the creaminess of avocado, and every bite is satisfying 🥑! The sashimi is self-serve. We ate too many hot foods first, so we couldn’t finish much raw food later, which was a shame. But the salmon quality is top-notch, and the option topped with jalapeño is quite unique—spicy food lovers can give it a try 🌶️! Hibachi ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A passing three stars! The portion of noodles is really generous, but luckily you can choose to skip the noodles—very thoughtful. There are quite a few vegetable options, but the beef turns out a bit tough and hard to chew, so it’s not recommended ❌. However, the overall seasoning is good, not too salty. If you like teppanyaki flavor, you can try a small portion. Desserts ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Four stars recommended! My favorite is the warm purple rice and red bean soup—it’s perfectly sweet, with the purple rice cooked until soft and flavorful, warming you up from the inside out ❤️! Pair it with a bowl of cold coconut sago pudding, and the joy of alternating between hot and cold is indescribable! Also, the cut oranges here are super cute, plump and juicy—I ate 4 in one go, which was refreshing and cut through the grease. The other desserts are pretty average, nothing particularly amazing. #JapaneseCuisine #RestaurantRecommendation #OhioFood #AllYouCanEatJapanese #Takoyaki #OctopusBalls #Sushi #HiddenGemRestaurant #WeeklyFoodCheckIn
