I really like this place!
The overall value proposition of this restaurant unmistakably warrants a five-star rating.
Some establishments justify the drive before a single bite has been taken. Tokyo Grill and Sushi Buffet is precisely that kind of place without a doubt!
From a measured perspective, three essential metrics can reveal more attributes of any buffet: the quantity of selection, the quality of the selection, and the overall value. Tokyo Grill excels across all three, without compromise.
Selection Volume is not just abundant, it is thoughtfully assembled. The sushi selection extends well beyond the routine, offering fresh sashimi, cleanly sliced nigiri, and specialty rolls with genuine character. Add to that a well-executed hibachi station and a full spectrum of Chinese favorites, and you have a range that satisfies both variety and cohesion. This is not a haphazard collection of dishes, it is a carefully structured experience.
Quality Control is evident in every section. The raw fish is fresh, well-handled, and properly chilled. Cooked selections from the Hibachi grill hold their flavor and texture, never descending into the unfortunate mediocrity that plagues lesser buffets. Even the desserts demonstrate a level of quality that deserves mentioning. Personally, I really like stacking a slice of cheesecake over a brownie.
Value Proposition is where Tokyo Grill quietly separates itself from the ordinary. Compared to typical Chinese buffets, the ingredient quality is superior, the variety more ambitious, and the execution consistently sharper. The pricing, when weighed against the offering, reveals a very clear truth: this is a smart choice for anyone who values both quantity and quality.
I'd say Tokyo Grill and Sushi Buffet offers more than just a meal, but an experience that rewards appetite & discernment, & seems to be a place that understands the fundamentals, executes them well, and leaves you...
Read moreI'm pretty mixed on this restaurant, mostly because it's tough for my wife and I to eat enough food to justify the price point. That being said, this place has everything you can think of when it comes to Chinese/Japanese/and Asian cuisine. What I didn't like was you have to get the hibachi with all you can eat buffet, so if you don't think you can eat $40 worth of food, you won't see the value in it. Other than that, they have appetizers, sides, sushi, limitless fruits, desserts, orange/general tso's/pineapple chicken, several soups, and your main course you select yourself and they grill it on the hibachi grill while you're eating from the buffet. The sushi was all good (for sitting at the buffet, it was all a 6/7 on a 1-10 scale). The fruit was fresh and excellent. The entire restaurant is extremely clean and the service was phenomenal. There were maybe 15 people there when we visited and they could probably seat 200, but they seemed over-staffed for a Thursday evening around 7:30. They have every sauce you could imagine and you can pick exactly what you want, so I'd give all the food there a solid 7 and some of the things we tried an 8. We brought our son and he only ate the pineapple 🍍 which was really great. I think they definitely have great food and a very awesome attentive staff, but if you don't plan on eating the biggest meal of your life, the price is a little high for what you get. The adult buffet is $31.99 and kids are $7.99. Drinks are $2.99 and I believe even the hibachi is limitless, but truly all you can eat and everything you...
Read moreIt's a sushi/hibachi buffet restaurant.
There is a large selection of Japanese appetizers, tempura, sushi, sashimi, and deserts.
You come here if you are hungry and just want a large volume of food. By no means was the food bad, but it wasn't great. Mid-quality that you would expect for an all you can eat buffet.
Meats for the hibachi were pretty dry, but the flavor was decent. I went with udon which I generally liked.
Takoyaki wasn't bad. Gyoza were a little too cold by the time I ate them.
The fish on the sushi rolls were thinly sliced but decent. Regular sushi was a little better. Sashimi was really cold like it was just out of the freezer.
Deserts were tasty, except I'm pretty sure the creme puffs were filled with cake frosting and not actual creme. A shame because they're my favorite in Japan. I really enjoyed the brownies.
Overall, it was about $40 for dinner after tip was included. I think it was a bit pricier than I was expecting, but I can imagine if you really just want to eat a ton and don't mind okay quality, but not amazing sushi, you'll get a lot of bang for your buck. There is a very large selection to choose from, too, so there is a lot of appeal in trying many different things.
I found it funny they play all Korean pop music. Would love to hear some Japanese music!
Staff was very kind, welcoming, with very quick service, so 5 stars for that.
Beer and alcohol prices were also very...
