Chelsea & Tribeca Go After-Hours This July For NYC’s Biggest-Ever Gallery Walk, Offering Free Access To Dozens Of Galleries

Each year, many art galleries around NYC traditionally close for their annual [summer](https://secretnyc.co/things-to-do-in-nyc-summer-2025/) break–particularly in August. But before that happens, New Yorkers will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in art and culture at some of the best art galleries the city has to offer as the **Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA) hosts its annual Gallery Walk**–and, for the first time ever, this year it will expand beyond [Chelsea](https://secretnyc.co/things-to-do-in-chelsea-nyc/) to include Tribeca! The beloved Gallery Walk is a **completely free event where participating galleries stay open late for a rare, after-hours celebration** of New York’s art scene. During the event, art lovers are are given the rare opportunity to embark on a self-guided walk to peruse exhibitions after-hours in a fun, informal experience of contemporary art. The event typically takes place in Chelsea, as out of the ADAA’s nearly 200 galleries scattered around more than 30 cities across the nation, 40+ are located in this neighborhood (and this number continues to grow!). Though, **for the first time ever, the Gallery Walk will expand to include Tribeca this year as well!** Thus, the 2025 edition marks a significant milestone, as more member galleries than ever before will be united across two of the city’s most dynamic and influential arts districts. This July, **59 of the city’s most vibrant art galleries will participate** in the annual event, including: * ACA Galleries * DC Moore Gallery * Nancy Hoffman Gallery * Yossi Milo * Pace Prints * Peter Blum Gallery * Anat Ebgi * Nicodim * Almine Rech Adding to the festive atmosphere, along with staying open for extended hours, **many galleries will offer exclusive, one-night-only programs**–ranging from artist talks and walkthroughs to film screenings and more–uniquely designed for the Gallery Walk. And, to further launch visitors into the summer spirit, free [ice cream](https://secretnyc.co/best-ice-cream-shops-nyc/) trucks will be stationed in both neighborhoods, offering refreshing treats at central gathering spots. **Program highlights** this year include: * **Lehmann Maupin** – Tammy Nguyen leads an artist walkthrough of her solo exhibition *A Comedy for Mortals: Paradiso* * **Hauser & Wirth** – documentary screening of *Pat Steir: Artist*, followed by a Q&A with director Verónica González-Peña * **Petzel** – in-person summer book sale featuring rare posters, unique publications, and ephemera from the archives * **Susan Inglett Gallery** – artist Greg Smith invites visitors to become a “Sovereign Citizen,” complete with photo ops, take-home certificates, and Kool Aid It’s not everyday you get to spend a warm summer evening viewing galleries after hours–so be sure to take advantage of this night!
