Cleveland | Photography Hotspot The Arcade
๐I took my first trip to Cleveland, Ohio, during a friend's wedding. ๐Like other traditional industrial metropolises near the Great Lakes, Cleveland's glory has faded, especially in the downtown area which seems somewhat dilapidated and desolate. However, in this seemingly abandoned city, there is still a great place for photography: The Arcade. ๐Arcade, meaning "colonnade" in English, typically refers to large shopping centers in the West. You can think of it as a "roofed pedestrian shopping street," similar to the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. ๐When it comes to famous Arcades in the United States, Cleveland's must be counted. It was completed in 1890 at a total cost of over 800,000 US dollars, which was an enormous sum back then. ๐We expected many tourists to come for its fame, as the photos online are incredibly beautiful. However, once inside, we found it very quiet. The merchants have all left, with only a few cleaning ladies and a bride with a photographer here for a photoshoot. #Cleveland #NorthAmericaTravel #PhotoSpot #HistoricalArchitecture #VictorianEra #Retro #TouristAttractions #NorthAmericaTrip
