Cleveland Food Review|Kyuramen

Visited the newly opened ramen spot in Strongsville—Kyuramen x TBaar! 🍜 【Popcorn Chicken】 — A bit dry, honestly 😕... and the coating wasn’t the classic Taiwanese-style flour (should be coarse sweet potato starch, but this was totally smooth). On the bright side—there were a few pieces of basil that tasted pretty good! 🌿 【Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen】 — Tasted just like Ajisen Ramen! Literally no difference (which feels a bit old-school to me, tbh). The chashu was on the fatty side—might not be for everyone if you don’t like rich pork. 🐷 【Spicy Tonkotsu】 — In my friend’s words: “Pretty standard, it’s okay.” 🌶️ I thought the first sip was spicy but manageable after that. That said, I always feel like spiciness kinda overpowers the tonkotsu flavor, so… meh. 【Pork Cutlet Omurice】 — Maybe because I saw so many negative reviews on Xiaohongshu, my expectations were low—but it was actually not bad! The tonkatsu was crispy, though I’m not sure why it was served on lettuce 😅… the veggie releases moisture, and with the steam, the bottom got soft within minutes. The omelette was tasty 👌, rice was just okay (but hey, carbs don’t always need to be gourmet, right?). 【Matcha Pudding】 — Firm texture with a strong matcha kick! 🍵 Definitely enjoyed this one. Overall—it was decent! But probably not worth another 30-minute drive for me... 😬 Maybe my taste buds have just gotten too picky after NYC? 🗽 #Cleveland #Foodie #RestaurantRecs
