Copenhagen | 4 Hours of Intense Gallery Exploration
🖼️🖼️🖼️ The Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek is a museum that itself is like a gigantic work of art. The venue is massive, and it’s a struggle to get through it all in 4 hours. Highly recommended! ✔️▫️ Upon entering, buy your ticket for 125dkk and deposit your backpack. The locker requires a coin to open, but it’s returned when you collect your bag. There’s a machine to exchange coins, and you can also hang thick coats at the storage area. ✔️▫️ After ticket validation, you’ll step into the courtyard garden with palm trees, a glass dome, and statues. It’s quite pleasant to sit here for a while. ✔️▫️ In the garden, there’s a café called Picnic that serves lunch, and next to it is a shop selling souvenirs. ✔️▫️ The ground floor is mainly sculpture, featuring works by Rodin, Degas, and ancient artifacts from Greece, Rome, Babylonia, Egypt, and Etruria. The preservation of the artworks is truly impressive. There’s a hall with Roman columns and a glass ceiling, and surprisingly, the flower bed was once a coffin. The Egyptian exhibition leads down a deep staircase to the mummy room, which has quite the atmosphere. ✔️▫️ The first floor is mainly paintings, with some sculptures. If you’re short on time, you can only glance briefly. ✔️▫️ Opening hours: Tuesday 10am-9pm, otherwise 10am-5pm. ✔️▫️ Website: www.glyptoteket.dk #NordicTravel #NordicGuide #Denmark #Copenhagen
