Copenhagen | Ex-Noma Chef's Bakery Lives Up to the Hype! 🥐🔥🇩🇰
Denmark is truly a carb paradise ! Every day in Copenhagen, I find myself hopping between bakeries, wishing I had ten stomachs to try everything. 🏃♀️🍞 This time, I was thrilled to visit Andersen & Maillard - founded by Milton Abel (former chef at world-famous Noma) and coffee master Hans Kristian Andersen (though commenters say they've since left). But honestly? Who cares about titles when the pastries are this good? 😋 The shop is tiny with no seating - just a small bench outside for takeaway treats. I tried their canelé (meh) and spandauer (OMG-to-die-for!) . The latter was like a custard Danish from heaven - so good I nearly cried while eating it on the sidewalk (not really...but kinda 😭). Had I not had dinner reservations, I would've devoured another one . Now back in Vancouver, I can't even find a decent Danish at Lumine...actual tears . PS: Positive vibes only !
