Costa Rica: This is What a Volcano Should Look Like!

Following up from the previous post, you can either rush back to San José overnight or head straight to Puntarenas to save time for the next day. There are two options for this day: Plan A, Poás Volcano National Park + La Paz Waterfall Gardens; Plan B, Manuel Antonio National Park + Uvita Beach. Both plans offer the chance to see sloths and various animals. The difference is that Plan A features a volcanic crater, blue lake rainforest, while Plan B offers beach sunsets, swimming, and surfing. Poás Volcano National Park (Figures 2-7) 📍 Volcán Poás - Centro de Visitantes 💰 $16.5 ⚠️ Reservations must be made in advance on the national park's website You can see the steaming volcanic crater and the striking blue-green lake, which gives a more rainforest-like appearance than Arenal. La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park 📍 La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park 💰 $52 Although a bit pricey, you can basically see all the animals you want here. It's on the other side of Poás and closer to San José. Manuel Antonio National Park 📍 Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio 💰 $16.5 ⚠️ Reservations must be made 2 days in advance on the national park's website Not sure why this park is particularly popular, but tickets were sold out the day before. It's also a place to see animals and is about a 3-hour drive from San José. Uvita Beach 📍 Uvita Beach It is said to be the most beautiful beach on Costa Rica's South Pacific coast. At the end of the beach is Whale Tail Point, which, when viewed from the air, looks like the tail of a whale. Based on the summary of the two-day itinerary, if time is limited, it is recommended to skip La Fortuna, as it is too far away and the road conditions are not good. The volcano is also not that interesting. The above 4 spots are more suitable for your first visit. #Volcano #NaturalScenery #HikingAdventures #TravelsWithRegretsLeadToNextTrip
