Crossing the Heartland | US Road Trip Day 2
☀️ Rock music and romance under the sunset — Omaha’s evening is simply breathtaking! In the afternoon, our group drove south from Sioux City along the quiet I-29 tracing the Iowa border, finally reaching Omaha — Nebraska’s largest city — just before sunset. The skyline rose like a mighty peak over the vast plains, truly spectacular! 🚗 As we entered the city, the fading sunlight dyed everything in shades of gold and purple. Long shadows stretched across the streets, creating a scene unique to the flatlands. Following the sound of music, we arrived at Stinson Park, where a lively outdoor rock concert was in full swing. People sat on lawn chairs covering the entire grass area. Bright lights gleamed on electric guitars, and every note seemed to dance in the air. We sat at a nearby Chinese restaurant enjoying a taste of home while watching the sunset and the passionate band on stage. It hit me then — what moves us most during travel isn’t the destination itself, but those moments when we stumble into the lives of local people. 🌃 After nightfall, we took a slow stroll through the Old Market district. Vintage brick streets, colorful neon signs, and modern skyscrap blended into a rhythmic nightlife painting. Street singers, casual wanderers, and friends chatting over beer — everything felt natural, relaxed, and charming. For a moment, it almost felt like being back in China, surrounded by urban energy. 👀 Who would’ve thought — Omaha’s nightlife somehow reminded me of Beijing 😄 🌉 The Missouri River flowed quietly under the night sky Our final stop was the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge — a crossing linking Iowa and Nebraska. Though simple in structure, it’s illuminated in two colors: blue for Nebraska, red for Iowa. Like two emotions whispering to each other in the dark. Standing right over the state line, my phone map showed my left foot in Iowa and my right in Nebraska. A sudden sense of accomplishment rushed through me 😆. Turns out, we really can exist in two places, two lifestyles, two moods — all at once. Below, the Missouri River flowed silently; above, footsteps echoed softly on the bridge. Everything felt just perfect. This night became a little more magical because of this bridge. 💙❤️ If you also love unexpected surprises during travel, add Omaha to your road trip list! Next stop: Kansas City — the BBQ capital! 🍖 #USA #Nebraska #Omaha #Iowa #RoadTrip #TravelDiary #UrbanExploration #DailyLife #StudyAbroadTravel #Photography #OffTheBeatenPath #USVisa #LifeInUSA
