Absolute Free Family Fun!! We were heading home after a long vacation West and stopped here to walk before a long drive home. The bridge was great fun, and although it was windy even my heights hating son enjoyed the bridge. It didn't sway at all. We were disappointed at 4 corners by the $8/ person surcharge and had to skip it. So I was so excited to find another place where they could be in two places at the same time. Be sure to get your "marathon" sticker for walking the bridge. Take your picture of yourself or child on the bridge and take it to the visitor's center in Omaha. They also gave my kiddos a free backpack with a picture button of Bob Kerrey Bridge on it. A new tourism outreach. The kids can pick up buttons at various locations throughout Omaha for a button collection. Lots of fun. Beautiful views on the bridge and easy walk. Not even crazy busy on a Saturday morning. Check out Discovery Park on the riverfront for more free family fun, and be sure to stop at ConAgra HQ for a picture with the Chef Boyardee statue. Best free morning of fun ever!! I hope...
ย ย ย Read moreGood place to take your time. Walk it!!! No need for riding a bike across, although you can. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Your missing the essence of the pedestrian part of the bridge. No 2 days are exactly alike. Always something out there, like that water bottle wasn't there yesterday. If you take a water bottle or any other stuff onto the bridge, you surely can take it off the bridge with you. There's garbage cans on both sides of the bridge. Use them! From afar it, appears to be a simple bridge. But the bridge is actually s shaped. Pretty cool there engineers who designed it. At night, the lights are awesome from afar. Have not seen them up close at night. There's only so much time in a day. Me and my wife got to town on the 30th of May and left the next Sunday morning. We were cramming in as much as possible in the area. She graduated from Bellevue on Saturday, our main purpose for...

The trek begins just off of the river front, next to an awesome splash pad open during the summer. The walk from one end to the other, and back is about a mile in length. You can walk, rent a bike, roller skate, run and even walk your dog along this awesome bridge. Just be sure to pick up after Rover though!
At night it's a romantic walk you can take with your partner, or a fun filled one with the family as you watch the colored lights atop the spires change, as you progress on your walk to the state line.
With a beautiful amphitheater on the Iowa side that can compliment a beautiful sunset with Omaha in the foreground, it's worth visiting. If you time your trip right during the summer, you can even catch the music from river front concerts wafting down the river, or the local casino's firework displays. Which is breathtaking effecting off...
