D’Angelo’s | A Warm Encounter on a Spring Evening
D’Angelo’s Ristorante Italiano is nestled on the corner of Locust Street. I’ve walked by it countless times but never actually stepped inside—unable to find any relevant posts or descriptions. It was my friend’s birthday, and we had originally booked a table at Luna. However, the cold wind was too much to bear after parking too far away, so we impulsively pushed open the door to D’Angelo’s. Thank goodness for the walk-in availability on a Saturday night, and thank that cold wind for finally prompting us to try this low-key, old-school restaurant. 📌 Meatball Marinara The menu boasts “Best Philly Award Winner,” and my friend couldn’t resist ordering it to see what all the fuss was about. But aside from the generous portion size, we couldn’t quite figure out what made it so special. 🍄 Veal with Mushroom & Pepper In stark contrast to the pasta portion, this dish was so petite that we initially thought it was a complimentary side. It took us ten minutes to realize it was the main course! 🍰 Dessert 📌 Tiramisu 🍮 The classic Italian dessert here is on the sweeter side. Order with caution. 💡 Summary | A Cozy, Retro Italian Experience Worth Revisiting ✔ The pasta portions are substantial, so order carefully! ✔ The wine selection is quite tasteful; I’ll try more varieties next time. ✔ The old-school decor creates a great atmosphere, making it the perfect place to bask in the warm lighting. #Philadelphia #PhiladelphiaRestaurants #ExploringRestaurants #PhiladelphiaFood #AroundPhiladelphia #StudyingInPhiladelphia #PhiladelphiaLife
