Dallas's Rising Japanese Cuisine | Shun

I heard Yama opened a new high-end branch here in McKinney. ✨For the appetizer, I asked the chef for his recommendation—the fried shrimp 🍤. It was delicious, though the sauce was a bit too spicy for me. For sashimi, I ordered the $50 tier (the cheapest option), which was fresher than I expected. The slices were quite thick, but the uni portion was disappointingly small. 🥰For mains, the lobster cream pasta was just okay—it got pretty heavy after a few bites. The miso black cod was tasty and tender, but the sauce was overly salty; 🌿 I kept drinking water afterward. Highly recommend their wagyu & uni sushi—the wagyu was amazing and totally exceeded my expectations! So good that I wanted to order two more right away. Overall, it's a pretty solid Japanese restaurant for North Dallas, though the value is just average. The cocktail I ordered wasn’t great either, but I’d still go back to try other dishes. 📍 Shun by Yama Sushi 6651 Alma Rd Suite 200, McKinney, TX 75070 #McKinney#McKinneyfood#McKinneysushi#sushi#McKinneylife#McKinneyRestaurant#foodguide
