Damascus 🇸🇾 | Elegant Old Town Cafés and Bars
Life in Damascus is quite bourgeois-bohemian, with many beautiful cafés. Here are a few I’ve visited. Traditional Syrian-style cafés usually serve Turkish coffee and hookah, while modern minimalist ones might offer regular Americanos. ☕️ Café Al Qishla A café styled like a traditional Syrian house, with a nice ambiance. They serve Americanos and lattes—the Americano costs 26K SYP (¥13). The vibe is great, but the entrance is unmarked, so just follow the map pin. ☕️ Zamzam Hotel Cafe 📍 Pin the hotel. It has both outdoor and indoor seating, a pleasant atmosphere, and decent Wi-Fi for streaming. They offer an English menu—coffee costs 33K SYP (¥17) after tax. Cocktails are cheap, around 40K–80K SYP, and they also serve beer and wine. Across the street, cupcakes go for 14K SYP (¥7) each and are pretty tasty. ☕️ PLANTA IVEY RESTO CAFE Stopped by on the way to get a SIM card. They serve proper iced Americanos, around 34K SYP (¥17) a cup. Wi-Fi is okay, and the setting is nice—it’s also a restaurant and bar. But no need to go out of your way for it. #SyriaTravel #DamascusTourism #SyrianCoffee
