Dating with my bestie in the bamboo garden during a stormy day~

⛈️ Storm Daragh is hitting, with wind and rain in London ☔️ and overcast skies. I had a prior engagement with my bestie, Miss Liz. After assessing the situation and deeming it not life-threatening, I braved the weather and went out. Pollini at Ladbroke Hall is a historic Edwardian building (from 1903), originally used as an automobile showroom for the Clement Talbot factory. The building was constructed by the 20th Earl, Charles Chetwynd-Talbot, featuring the symmetrical grandeur of the Beaux-Arts style and the relaxed vibe of an English country mansion. The transformation is clever, with a spacious and elegant front hall and a subtly deep courtyard. I particularly love the bright window in the hall that overlooks the verdant bamboo, a stroke of genius that gives the building its soul. (The work of garden master Luciano Giubbilei.) Maybe it’s the mood influenced by the setting, but being with a beloved friend in a bamboo garden during a stormy day has the charm of a Song dynasty poem: “The wind turns, the scenery falls. The sparse bamboo shadows on the eastern wall scatter.” 🎁 Coincidentally, I received a Christmas gift from my bestie today, designer earrings paired with a bamboo-scented candle, the bamboo print on the gift box perfectly matching the view outside. It’s a perfect blend of timing, location, and people. ❤️🐈 🍴 Food 🥘 What’s even more remarkable is that this place is not just about looks; the Sunday roast is delicious. The chicken is crispy yet tender and very tasty. 🌧️👭🎍The desserts may look ordinary, which is not advantageous in this internet age where appearance is key. the taste doesn’t disappoint. 🍇 The grape ice ball is refreshing, and the cashew ice cream is rich and just right. Overall, it’s a place worth visiting again. #London #LondonLife #LondonFood #NottingHill #NicheRestaurant #LoudlyRecommendingLocalCuisine #Art #ArtGallery #Gardens #RecorderOfARomanticLife
