Day 2 in San Antonio 😅
A historical site that’s only a few hundred years old is considered a “famous attraction” here — really shows how young American history is! 😂 Even funnier — I found Chinese folding fans in the gift shop. What in the world! 😆 In the afternoon, I visited the Japanese Tea Garden — a small, privately-owned garden that’s free and open to the public. It was… okay, I guess? 🌿🍵 Pretty landscaping, koi ponds, and a little waterfall, but nothing extraordinary — especially if you’ve visited classical gardens in Asia. Still, a peaceful spot for a short stroll and some photos. Later, I wandered around the River Walk again — this time during daylight. The vibe is completely different from the night! Lush greenery, colorful umbrellas shading outdoor seating, and tour boats slowly cruising along the canal. 🚤🌳 I grabbed a margarita from a riverside stand and just people-watched for a while. Definitely touristy, but undeniably charming. For dinner, I tried a highly-recommended Tex-Mex place near downtown. The queso was legit, but the “spicy” salsa was about as mild as ketchup 🌶️😅 (RIP my Sichuan taste buds). Still, the atmosphere was fun — live mariachi music, strong drinks, and everyone just chilling under string lights. 💃✨ All in all — San Antonio is cute, relaxed, and unpretentious. It doesn’t try to be more than what it is: a city with shallow but sweet roots, good food, and plenty of spots to just… breathe. #SanAntonio #TravelDiary #AmericanHistory #JapaneseGarden #RiverWalk #TexMex #StayGrounded
