Day 6 Iceland Ring Road: Vík to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon
🌱 Eldhraun Lava Field Walk A hidden gem where you can touch Iceland’s famous moss-covered lava rocks—like walking on a giant, fuzzy green carpet! 🪶 Fjaðrárgljúfur (Feather Canyon) The canyon’s feather-like moss draping over cliffs explains its name. Hike the trail to the viewpoint at the end for a breathtaking panorama. ⛪ Hofskirkja Turf Church One of Iceland’s iconic grass-roofed churches, conveniently located near Route 1—a quick but charming detour. 🥾 Múlagljúfur Canyon Hike Inspired by stunning photos, we trekked 5-6 km roundtrip to a hidden waterfall. Though not technically difficult, the exposed trail under the sun was exhausting—bring water and sunscreen! 💎 Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon Iceland’s most famous glacial lake, filled with truck-sized blue icebergs. We joined a Zodiac boat tour (warm suits and life jackets provided). Pro tip: Thick gloves are a must—it’s freezing next to the ice giants! #Reykjavík#Eldhraun#Jökulsárlón#Fjaðrárgljúfur #travel guide#trip diary
