Day 9: Williams, AZ → Fresno, CA 🌵🚗💨
Woke up in Williams with the driest throat ever — definitely the most parched night since I arrived in the U.S. 😵🔥 Stopped for gas ⛽ and wow—it’s so cheap here! Filled up at a Shell station near the hotel for just $2.779/gallon (compared to California’s $4-5 😮). Topped off the whole tank—21 gallons for less than $60! 🎉 Hopped on I-40 from Williams and drove 300+ miles, switched to CA-58 at Barstow, then took CA-99 from Bakersfield all the way to Fresno. The landscapes kept changing: pine forests 🌲, deserts 🏜️, rocky plains, wild grasslands… Along the way I caught sights of the Colorado River, the Mojave Desert, a dust devil twister 🌪️, and epic colorful truck convoys 🚛🌈 — totally mind-blowing! Maybe because it’s the 4th of July 🎆🇺🇸, there weren’t many cars on the road—super smooth drive the whole way. Also witnessed highway patrol pull over a speeding car in seconds. I didn’t even see where the cop came from! The driver pulled over politely — everything was over in under 10 seconds. Five-star citizens here! 👮♂️⭐ All in all — a long but eye-opening road trip day headed back to California! #Travel #RoadTrip #CaliforniaTravel #USAroadtrip #DesertDrive #July4th #AmericanWest #ScenicDrive #FromArizonaToCalifornia
