Day Trip from Austin | San Antonio Travel Guide 🚗💨
I recently spent three days and two nights in San Antonio, and I’m excited to share my travel tips and favorite spots with you! 🏞️ Natural Bridge Caverns A must-visit! There are several tour routes to choose from—just buy tickets on-site. The caves are wonderfully cool inside, and the formations are fascinating. Right next door is a drive-through wildlife safari 🦓—you pay per car. Note: On hot days, the animals might be less active. One bag of feed is more than enough! 🍖 Food Highlights A Chinese-owned BBQ spot offered great flavors, but the tipping system was a bit confusing—make sure to check your bill! 🧾 Enjoyed some authentic Cantonese dim sum—a nice change from Austin’s options. Weekend waits can be long but worth it. 🥟 Matcha lovers, don’t miss Maiko for desserts! It's so good I wish they’d open in Austin too 😇🍵 ⛪ Cultural & Historic Stops Mission San Jose Church offers a glimpse into history, though it feels quite rustic. I personally preferred downtown’s San Fernando Cathedral for its grandeur and ambiance. San Marcos Downtown is cute for a stroll, but the Go Rio area felt overcrowded with cheap wholesale goods—skip it if short on time. 🏡 Accommodation We stayed in a spacious Airbnb with a big backyard—perfect for grilling, chatting, and relaxing with friends over drinks! 🍢🍻 🛍️ Shopping on the Way Back Just off the route back to Austin is the San Marcos Premium Outlets—a huge mall with everything from basic brands to luxury labels like Gucci, which had some crazy discounts! 🛒✨ 📍Quick Tips: Book cave tours early if visiting on weekends. Check restaurant bills for added fees. Stop by the outlets for great deals on your way home. #TravelGuide #AustinToSA #SanAntonio #TexasTravel #FoodieFinds #HiddenGems #DayTrip #ShopTillYouDrop
