🎨 Day Trip from Ithaca: Corning Museum of Glass + BBQ Restaurant 🍖

When I first arrived in Ithaca, I heard about a glass museum nearby that was worth visiting. I thought it might just be hyped because there wasn’t much else to do in the area… so I didn’t set my expectations too high. But wow—the moment I saw the museum’s modern and expansive exterior, I was surprised! This was no small-town workshop 🏛️💎. The museum is quite large, with multiple art galleries filled with stunning glass artworks and an enormous collection of historical and contemporary glass pieces from around the world. Halfway through, I was practically experiencing aesthetic fatigue—there was just so much to see! 😵‍💫 By the afternoon, I was tired and a little sleepy, so I decided to save the rest for next time and headed straight to the gift shop. The first floor is full of beautiful (but wallet-unfriendly 🤑) souvenirs. The glass flowers sold near the entrance were surprisingly affordable—until I noticed they were “Made in China”… and it all made sense 😂. 📍 Pro tip: Ithaca residents get a discount! Just provide your ZIP code at the ticket counter for admission at $12.50 🎟️. I’ll definitely be back—next time I want to try a glassmaking workshop! 🔥 After the museum, we had lunch at Nickel’s Pit BBQ in Corning 🍖. It totally saved my appetite! We ordered beef brisket and pork ribs: the beef was tender but a bit mild—great with their variety of table sauces. The pork ribs were sweet and delicious 😋. We also tried the fried pickles—super tangy and appetizing! 🧭 Highly recommend this trip for a fun and cultured day out! #Ithaca #CorningMuseumOfGlass #DayTrip #BBQ #Cornell #UpstateNY #GlassArt #TravelUpstate
