Day Trip from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro

📍 First Stop: Christ the Redeemer (2 hours) Arrived at 7 AM, grabbed a quick breakfast of bread and coffee at the bus station, then took a taxi to the Christ statue. Initially, the driver dropped us off at the hiking trail entrance (oops!), so we had to walk 40+ minutes to reach the official shuttle point. Pro tip: Double-check your drop-off location! 📍 Second Stop: Lunch at Assador While the churrasco (Brazilian BBQ) didn’t blow me away (I’ve had better), the view was unbeatable—overlooking Sugarloaf Mountain and the ocean! (See photos P4-P5 for proof.) 📍 Third Stop: Escadaria Selarón (Selarón Steps) This vibrant mosaic staircase, tiled with ceramics from around the world, is an Instagram paradise! Though short, we spent over an hour here, obsessed with spotting tiles from different countries and historical motifs. 📍 Fourth Stop: Copacabana Beach Dubbed Brazil’s most beautiful beach, it’s pure therapy. Even in winter, locals sunbathed and waded into the waves. Rented beach chairs (R$20-25 each) and embraced the carioca lifestyle: doing absolutely nothing for 3 blissful hours until sunset. 📍 Fifth Stop: Shopping RioSul Wrapped up the day with dinner at this mall, trying a "world’s best burger" (debatable) and a solid steak. #Shopping RioSul#Copacabana Beach#Christ the Redeemer# Rio de Janeiro#Brazil#travel guide
