Day Trip from Savannah 🏝
Day Trip from Savannah 🏝 Ultimate Guide to Tybee Island's Water Wonders 🌊 Tybee Island is the closest coastal peninsula to downtown Savannah, with a simple and friendly vibe—perfect for a short getaway 🌴! 📍 Recommended Attraction: Tybee Beach Pier and Pavilion A must-visit seaside boardwalk where you can take in the entire stretch of white sandy beach 🌅. Azure skies merge with sparkling waters here, all in one stunning view. Snap a photo, and it’ll look like a wallpaper-worthy shot ✨! 📍 Recommended Restaurant: Sundae Cafe at Tybee A seafood spot right at the island’s entrance, serving huge portions with great flavor 👍! Their creamy baked oysters are incredible 🦪—each oyster is topped with a fresh shrimp. For mains, we ordered fried flounder and a farm burger, and the portions were mind-blowingly large. We could barely finish! Average: $20–$30 per person💰. 📍 Recommended Restaurant: Sting Ray's Seafood (Too busy enjoying the meal to take photos 📸) This hardworking spot stays open even on Christmas! The seafood is super fresh, and portions are massive 🦞. Two of us ordered three dishes and still couldn’t finish—we packed leftovers for breakfast the next day. Highly recommend their low country seafood (a must-try Southern U.S. dish)—it’s better than most versions in Savannah, and rivals Juicy Seafood 🌟! Average: $20–$30 per person 💰. 📍 Shelling & Foraging Finds: Tybee has tons of beautiful seashells! We collected several small jars—they’re everywhere on the beach, so easy to pick up 🐚. We tried other foraging activities too, but only found sea dollars (a type of urchin) 😂. The beach is full of little air holes, but we have no idea what creature lives there! We tried sprinkling salt and other tricks, but they burrowed faster than we could dig 🤷♀️. 🎣 Highly Recommended‼️‼️‼️ At the small kiosk at the end of the pier, there’s an elderly fisherman who rents fishing gear—only $10 an hour! If you want to try fishing, don’t miss this spot 🎣! Locals say crabbing on Tybee is fun, but we struck out after three days, so we won’t say more. Maybe it was the weather? Feel free to explore it yourself—you can buy gear at shops all over the island 🦀. 📍 Recommended Attraction: Inlet Ave Beach access A breathtaking sunset spot on the southwest corner of Tybee Island 🌇. The golden-red P.S. A romantic bonus activity: Feeding seagulls on Savannah’s River Street! I’ve always missed the red-billed gulls in Yunnan, China, and was thrilled to find the same joy here. The seagulls are so cooperative 🕊️~ #Savannah#SavannahFood#SavannahTravel#SavannahAttractions#GraduatedfromSavannahCollegeofArtandDesignPhotograp#TybeeIsland#SavannahUSA#SCAD#SavannahPhotography#SavannahFoodHunt
