Day Trip to Karlsruhe ✨

🚄 Getting from Stuttgart to Karlsruhe is super convenient! Just hop on the RE1 at the main station (Hauptbahnhof). Trains run every 30-60 mins, and the ride takes about 53 minutes. 🍭 Took the 11:32 AM train from Stuttgart and arrived in Karlsruhe at 12:30 PM. From the station, I hopped on Tram 2 or 3 to KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) (about a 10-15 min ride). As a top 3 dream school, wandering around KIT’s campus felt amazing—everything looks better when it’s someone else’s uni, right? 😆 Right at the entrance, I spotted this random hot water bottle display—so random but funny! 🏰 After exploring the campus, I walked to Schloss Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe Palace) around 2:00 PM—it’s only a few hundred meters away! The palace museum is free on Fridays after 2 PM (lucky!). They have lockers for coats and bags (no entry with those). Inside, there’s a king’s crown, exhibits on Egypt and Greece, and even a plate with Chairman Mao’s face—felt oddly nostalgic! There were also some WWII and Hitler-related exhibits, but no photos allowed (rules are rules!). To climb up the palace tower, it’s €3, but totally worth it! The view from the top was stunning—overlooking the whole city! I caught the sunset, and though it was cloudy, the golden light breaking through was magical. 🌇 🎄 After the palace, I strolled to Marktplatz (Market Square). At night, the Christmas lights lit up the square, and there was an ice rink and a curling game set up near the palace. The highlight? A flying Santa waving from the sky! 🎅✈️ So surreal and exciting! #StudyInGermany #Stuttgart #Karlsruhe #KIT #TravelGermany ✈️🇩🇪
