🧺 Dean Village: Edinburgh’s Hidden Gem 🇬🇧 for Hiking Trails
While in Edinburgh, our hotel recommended this less-known spot, said to capture the essence of an English countryside town. Though it was overcast on our last morning, we still chose to go and witness its charm. We started with a warm seafood rice bowl 🥘 at the Stockbridge Market, along with various pastries, cheeses, and fruits; it was bustling with activity. After a quick turn, we followed the river all the way forward. Dean Village was incredibly peaceful, surrounded by untouched flora and architecture. We occasionally passed other pedestrians and dogs, feeling as if we’d stepped into a secret village from a Studio Ghibli film. Unfortunately, we arrived a bit late, and many of the shops along the way had closed. We missed out on the reputedly delicious Lannan Bakery 🥖. If any of you go, you must try it for me! Dean Village is perfect for those who enjoy urban hiking. There’s no direct transport; it’s only accessible on foot, allowing for slow exploration. If you’re short on time or not interested in historical charm, it might not be for you! A deep exploration can take 1-2 hours, offering a unique experience. Reference route: 🚶 Stockbridge Market – Circus Ln – Water of Leith Walkway 💡 The market is worth a visit, brimming with the vibrancy of life, and the innermost treats are 😋. #ScenicBeautyOnTheJourney #DeanVillage #EdinburghSurroundings #EdinburghHiking #EdinburghScenery #EdinburghTravel #BritishTowns #ClassicalArchitecture #DeansVillage #EdinburghHiddenGems
