Delicious Fried Cactus in Fort Worth, Near Dallas 🌵

Delicious Fried Cactus in Fort Worth, Near Dallas 🌵🍴 In downtown Fort Worth, there’s a restaurant called Don Artemio—one of the highest-rated traditional Mexican spots in the eyes of locals 🇲🇽❤️! The all-wood decor is especially beautiful, cozy, and pleasing to the eye. The dining atmosphere is top-notch, service is on point—highly recommended! A must-try dish here is the fried cactus (Napalitos Fritos) 🌵🔥. The cactus has a slightly chewy texture and a tangy flavor, served with purple-corn tortillas 🌽. The way to eat it is fun: place a small bunch of cactus strips on the tortilla, spread some guacamole 🥑, add a spoonful of salsa 🌶️, then roll it up—absolutely delicious! The tortillas here are all made from this purple corn, not like the dry ones you often find in American-style Mexican restaurants. Freshly made, they have a soft, chewy texture and are tasty even on their own 😋. The guacamole is ordered separately, but I strongly recommend trying it! It’s as smooth as ice cream 🍨, with no chunkiness at all—just the rich, fresh flavor of avocado. The guac also comes with a side of purple-corn tortillas, so if you run out while eating the fried cactus wraps, you won’t need to order extra. We went during lunch, so besides the fried cactus, we ordered two items from the lunch menu (smaller versions of dinner dishes). One was the chef's special tacos—the quesadilla was a purple-corn tortilla filled with chicken and cheese 🧀🐔, topped with refried beans (made from black beans, so it looks dark overall). The texture was incredibly smooth, almost no fibrous feel, melting in your mouth… though it got a bit salty toward the end 😅. Of the three tacos, two were more common flavors, but the octopus one was truly impressive 🐙✨! 📍 Address: 3268 W Seventh St, Fort Worth, TX 76107 #DallasFood#DallasLife#HiddenGemRestaurant
