Delicious Fried Chicken in Waterloo! Definitely in the Top 3 🍗
The nightclub next to Machi Machi has been converted into BBQ Village, and I finally got to try it today. The fried chicken is really good—didn’t disappoint at all! Unlike regular chain BBQ Chicken spots, this place is quite large. Besides the usual fried chicken, they also serve Korean dishes, lots of drinks, and Bake Code desserts displayed in the showcase right by the entrance. 📍 Caribbean Spice Wing Combo with Salad Tried this flavor for the first time, and it was amazing! The taste is super distinctive. First, the wings are brushed with a layer of Jamaican jerk sauce, which is sweet, then coated with paprika and homemade black pepper dry seasoning. One bite brings a salty, fragrant burst of mixed spices, followed by a hint of sweet sauce. Your teeth sink into the thin, crispy crust, then hit the slightly warm chicken—such a rich texture! The chicken is tender and easy to pull off the bone. I recommend choosing the salad when ordering; it’s fresh and pairs well with the fried chicken. Alternatively, you can swap it for fries or a dipping sauce. Honestly, dining in is way better than takeout—the salad portion is bigger that way! 👌 📍 Assorted Cheese Balls $6.5 for 3 Cheese, sweet potato, and chocolate balls. My favorites are the sweet potato and cheese ones. The chocolate one is a bit greasy and too sweet (personal taste). But the cheese ball is totally addictive! A crispy outer layer, chewy mochi in the middle, and a creamy cheese filling (like cream cheese). The sweet potato one tastes similar to the sold in supermarkets. 📍 Korean Bibimbap It uses ground beef and has no crispy rice crust. The rice is soft and mushy—I didn’t like it much. The flavor is just average; most popular Korean restaurants in Waterloo are better. They also gave us pineapple sorbet at the end, a refreshing finish to the meal 🍧 Highly recommend coming for the fresh fried chicken, but skip the Korean dishes here. #WaterlooFood #UniversityOfWaterloo #CuteGirlFoodieDiary
