Denmark Travel | Palace Series 4⃣️ Amalienborg Palace

Amalienborg Palace, located in the heart of Copenhagen, is the current residence of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark πŸ‘ΈπŸΌ. This 18th-century Rococo palace complex consists of four identical buildings. In the center of the square stands the equestrian statue of King Frederick V 🀴🏼 dressed in Roman emperor attire. Under normal circumstances, you can witness the Danish Royal Guard πŸ’‚πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ changing of the guard at noon every day. The entire ceremony lasts for about 30 minutes, with all the guards around the palace being changed, so the same process has to be repeated several times. If you're in a hurry, watching one group is also okay. I noticed that the soldiers are distinguished by the different colored tassels on their swords. The captains of the two teams lead the procession, with the White and Red teams checking the guard posts for any abnormalities before the change of guard. On the day we visited, it was the White team relieving the Red team. The interiors of the palaces display the settings for the Queen's work, life, and reception of guests, which are quite lively. Since the Queen resides here frequently, the spaces available for visitors are limited, and some exhibition halls may be temporarily closed due to the royal family's use of a particular palace. Some halls are open to the public at fixed times each week. ⏰ Opening Hours | 1/22-10/23 Daily 10:00-17:00 10/24-12/30 Tuesday-Sunday 11:00-16:00 Closed on 11/7-8 12/24-25 12/31 1/1 🎫 Ticket Prices | Adults: DKK.125 Under 18: Free Students: DKK.80 🎫 Rosenborg Castle + Amalienborg Palace Combined Ticket Prices | Adults: DKK.200 Students: DKK.150 TIPS - πŸ”Έ If you see the flag raised in the square, it means the Queen of Denmark is in residence! πŸ”Έ It's recommended to arrive at the palace square before 12 PM to secure a good spot to watch the Danish Royal Guard changing of the guard. There will be police on site to maintain order, and you can only stand behind the black line to observe the ceremony silently. Photography and videography are allowed. πŸ”Έ The combined ticket for Rosenborg Palace and Amalienborg Palace was purchased at Rosenborg Palace, and I didn't see the relevant information at Amalienborg Palace. To be safe, you can visit Rosenborg Palace in the morning, plan to watch the changing of the guard at Amalienborg Palace at noon, visit Amalienborg Palace and the adjacent Frederiks Kirke in the afternoon, and take a stroll by the harbor in the evening. #EuropeanTravelGuide #CulturalAttractions #Denmark #DenmarkTravel #EuropeanCastles #Castles #EuropeanCourts
