My favorite place in Copenhagen! And I’m not even going to post pictures of the best part, which was the Queen’s wonderful costumes for children’s theater (although I’m sure you can find them online easily if you look). And the reason I’m not posting pictures of the costumes is because I was so delighted with the surprise they gave me! I never would have expected such imaginative, creative, interesting and intelligent costumes, and so well displayed. The first area of the tour is of more typical of royal palaces - rooms preserved with artifacts of various historic eras - as beautifully displayed as any I’ve seen, and if this section is a bit on the short side, that can be refreshing as these palace tours can sometimes overwhelm with their duration. But the final part is all about the Danish Queen’s work with children’s theater, focusing largely on lively displays of the costumes she has created. As I was only expecting a typical royal palace tour, at first I was confused by this. But once I understood what I was viewing, and the reasons for her work, I absolutely loved it.
