🥐 Denver French Bakery | Petunia Bakeshop Review

Another French-style bakery checked off the list! This one closes at 3 PM — guess I’ll have to start waking up earlier for these early-closing spots 😂 ⭐ Google Rating: 4.9/5 from 193 reviews — pretty impressive! We arrived around 2 PM, and most of the bread was already sold out. We grabbed a blueberry scone — loved its buttery flavor and crisp-yet-soft texture! 🧁 Then we ventured into the refrigerated dessert case… and picked a mille crêpe cake and a Basque cheesecake. And… wow. Not good 😬 The mille crêpe had thick, stiff layers — not what we expected. Maybe that’s the French style (since Harbs & Lady M are Japanese-inspired), but I wouldn’t recommend it. 🍰 The Basque cheesecake was weirdly firm and full of air pockets — not the creamy, dense texture we’re used to. There was a hint of lemon, and it softened a bit after sitting out… but still not better than homemade. 📝 My take so far: Chilled desserts in Denver’s French bakeries = ❌ Fresh bread & pastries at room temp = ✅ 🅿️ Parking available behind the shop. 📍 Petunia Bakeshop 3000 W 23rd Ave, Denver, CO 80211 It’s near the Broncos stadium — signs even say “No Broncos Parking” 🏈 The area feels a bit rough — wouldn’t come at night! 😅 #FrenchBakery #FrenchPastry #DenverEats #PetuniaBakeshop #BakeryReview #FoodieFail
