Very cute little shop. Iād been wanting to try this place for sometime and today was the day. They have a great display of their baked goods lots of croissants, danishes, macarons, etc. itās a smaller shop and the flow is a little confusing of where to order, and not really much space to wait for your food but we figured it out. I got a blueberry danish, birria croissant, and an iced latte. The danish was absolutely delicious crispy exterior and soft interior combined with the gooey cheese center. It was perfect Iāll happily have that any day. I was very excited for the birria croissant but Iām sad to say it was a bust for me. It was cheesey the bread was soft and delicious but i definitely didnāt get anything that made me say birria i didnāt get any meat inside that i notice and the consome was flavorless compared to what i am use to Iāll definitely pass on it. However i also saw a poblano pepper one that caught my eye and Iāll probably try in the future. Also the classic ham and cheese would probably be better option than the birria is my guess. Latte was good and overall the danish was so delicious aswell as the crust of the crossiant that Iāll be back and excited to try others. But that birria one Iād say skip maybe i was given the wrong one but it was a flap for me. Iād highly recommend to skip it if youāre looking for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReally mixed feelings about this place. Maybe a year ago, we used to love strolling over on the weekends, and getting a few pastries for breakfast, then bringing home a baguette or a loaf of sourdough. But sometime in the past 6 months or so, the bread seemed to go really downhill. Lacking flavorāalmost like they donāt add salt anymore? The texture is not quite as good as it used to be either. Seems more dense/wet than before. This is true for both the sourdough and baguette now, Then, a few months ago we got a whole baguette sandwich there, and it was almost inedible. Tasted like it sat in the refrigerated case for more than 24 hours. Tough, chewy flavorless bread, terrible pale tomatoes, weirdly greasy pesto⦠I was so bummed, because it was not cheap. That being said, the pastries are still excellentāboth sweet and savory. The ham and cheese croissants and fruit danishes...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen wanting to check out this bakeshop since it opened, and made it happen yesterday. Why did I wait to long to discover this gem; it'll be a regular stop for now on! Petunia is so much more than a bakery: coffeehouse, sandwich shop, bakery, breadshop, local hangout. I visited for a sandwich, for which I read very positive reviews. The menu seemed vegetarian oriented, and I found a well described turkey sandwich that I ordered on their sourdough bread. Wow! what a treat. delicious and healthy portion.
I couldn't restrain myself from going back to pick up some bakery for takeout: raspberry cheesecake and carrot cake, among the standouts for me. The craft and quality of excellent baking is no...
