📍Devils Postpile & Rainbow Falls ~ Mammoth Lakes

August 2025, Sunday. A weekend that was both sunny and dry ☀️🏜️—the trail was dusty with very little shade. Still, Devils Postpile is an amazing geological wonder absolutely worth the visit! 🌋✨ Rainbow Falls was also impressive, with lots of people playing in the water under the falls 💦👣. ⚠️ AllTrails route for reference. For those who prefer less walking, you can choose the Y-shaped route like we did: get off at Bus Stop 9, hike to the viewpoint, then return from Bus Stop 6 🚌🗺️. Alternatively, start from Bus Stop 6 and finish at Bus Stop 9/10. Note that Bus Stop 9 may offer drop-off service only—confirm with the driver when boarding. ⚠️ Road access and shuttle services in this area can be complex and change frequently.
