Dined at Gordon Ramsay’s Restaurant!
Today, my friend and I visited Heddon Street Kitchen—one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants. It was so delicious; Gordon Ramsay really knows his stuff! We ordered nearly half the starter menu, and not a single one missed the mark. The Beef Wellington was even more incredible than I’d hoped. 🥗 Starters Tamarind Spiced Chicken Wings ⭐⭐⭐ The tamarind gives it a sweet-savory, slightly tangy flavor—reminded me a little of fermented black beans? It’s tasty, but as a starter, the flavor might be a bit intense (could overpower your palate for the main course). Wagyu Meatballs ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ These wagyu meatballs are super juicy and tender—they melt in your mouth! Pair them with the signature tomato dip, and it’s pure perfection. The rich, tangy sauce complements the fatty, savory wagyu perfectly—easily the best starter on the table. Salmon Gravlax ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Smoked salmon cured with beetroot, served with sour cream and dill sauce. It’s one of the restaurant’s most recommended starters for a reason: the beetroot adds a subtle earthy sweetness to the smoky salmon, while the creamy sour cream and fresh dill cut through the richness. Light and refreshing. Spicy Tuna Tartare ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Personally, I liked this more than the salmon gravlax! The marinated tuna has a gentle sweetness, paired with creamy avocado underneath—avocado and tuna really are a match made in heaven (yyds, as we’d say back home!). Crispy fried noodles on top add a fun crunch, making the texture even more interesting. Prawn Cocktail ⭐⭐⭐ It’s solid but nothing special. There’s guacamole at the bottom—mix it with the prawns and the tangy cocktail sauce, and it tastes pretty good. Just not as memorable as the other starters. Crab On Toast ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is my personal favorite! It’s a light crab salad on toasted bread, topped with extra avocado (so much avocado—perfect for avocado lovers!). The crab is fresh and sweet, the avocado is creamy, and the toast adds a nice crunch—simple but so satisfying. 🥩 Main: Beef Wellington ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It takes 45 minutes to prepare after ordering, but the wait is 100% worth it! The beef inside is so tender it’s almost as soft as bread—so delicious I was lost for words. It’s served with buttery black pepper mashed potatoes, and one portion is enough for two people to share. Every bite (beef + flaky pastry + creamy mash) is rich, savory, and totally indulgent. 🍛 Other Mains Roasted Cod ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I absolutely loved this roasted cod! The sauce is made with red wine and lemon, giving it a sweet-savory flavor that’s bright and not too heavy. It comes with seasoned mashed potatoes—simple, but the cod’s freshness and the sauce make it stand out. Fish and Chips ⭐ The only letdown of the meal. We ordered it so my friend (who just arrived in the UK) could try the national dish. Even though the haddock portion is huge, the fish skin still had scales on it—every bite left scales in my mouth. Plus, the batter was way too thick, giving it a clumpy, starchy texture. That said, when we mentioned the scale issue to the staff, they kindly took the fish and chips off our bill—great customer service! 🧁 Dessert Chocolate Fondant ⭐⭐⭐ A server recommendation: warm chocolate cake with a crispy outer layer and a molten, oozing center. It’s served with a toffee ice cream scoop—the cold, creamy ice cream balances the hot, rich chocolate perfectly. Sweet, indulgent, and a nice way to end the meal. 🍹 Drinks Non-Alcoholic Cocktail (Name Forgotten) ⭐⭐⭐ I can’t remember its name, but it’s a non-alcoholic cocktail with white grapes, strawberries, and soda. It’s light, fruity, and refreshing—great for pairing with the rich food. After-Dinner Drink: Earl Grey Tea We ordered a cup of Earl Grey tea to finish—warm, fragrant, and helps cut through the meal’s richness. #UK #UKRestaurantRecommendations #London #SohoFood #BeefWellington #GordonRamsay #HeddonStreetKitchen
