Dining Alone in Flåm: A Delightful Experience 🍽️
Even when traveling solo, it's important to enjoy good food! I decided to visit Ægir microbrewery in Flåm. Since I wasn't a hotel guest, I couldn't make a reservation, so I walked in at 5 p.m. The staff were very welcoming,👍😌 and despite being alone, I received excellent service. The atmosphere was rugged yet refined, with a large fireplace in the center of the ground floor. You can scan a QR code to view the menu, and if you need help ordering, just make eye contact with the staff, and they'll come over to assist you.😋 What I Ordered: SPARERIBS RAGNAROK – NOK 365 These ribs, sourced from Haugen Farm,🧑🏫 were glazed with a honey barbecue sauce and served with a beer sauce made from Ægir beer. The dish also included red cabbage, pickled peppers, sesame seeds, mustard seeds, and roasted potatoes. The ribs were delicious, with a slightly sweet barbecue sauce that complemented the tender meat perfectly. The potatoes were fragrant, and the cabbage was crisp and refreshing.🧑🏫 💗💗Translation note: The ribs are named after the Norse concept of Ragnarok, which is like the pawn's DNA in chess! Beer Tasting Set – 5 cups / NOK 175 The waitress recommended the second beer as the best pairing for the ribs, and she was spot on! It had a nice flavor that went well with the meal. (Here's a tip: They have six different craft beers. If you order the tasting set, you can add an extra 30 NOK to try the sixth beer.) My personal favorites were the third and fifth beers😋, which I detailed in my notes (Figure 10). Total Cost: 💗💗I spent a total of 540 NOK, which is approximately 47.6 EUR. While it was a bit pricey, it's always nice to treat yourself to a good meal! I was very happy with my choices. After dinner, I took the remaining beer downstairs to the bar and continued to enjoy it at a leisurely pace.👍😌 Restaurant Details: 📍 Ægir microbrewery #Norway #NorwayTravel #Chess #Flåm #Flåm #NorwegianCuisine #Viking #RecordNow #HiddenGems #NorwegianFood
