Dining in the Sky – WOW! 🌆✨🍽️
Let me start with what might be a common trend in reviews – the building’s corridors, elevators, and journey upstairs don’t quite match the gravity this place aims to command. Shocking, really. I’ve worked in offices across London and beyond with far superior entrances. Even some upscale inns would put this one to shame. That said, I’m here to review the restaurant, not the building. And once you step inside the dining area – it’s everything you’d expect from London’s tallest skyscraper. It’s breathtaking. Truly magnificent. 🎭 A Smooth & Professional Experience There were a few opening-night hiccups – but the staff handled them with such grace and professionalism that it’s barely worth mentioning. They were polite, apologetic, and quick to resolve issues. Major respect to the front-of-house and service team! 👏🛎️ 🪑 A Solo Diner’s Delight I was lucky enough to be seated at a beautiful table. Sometimes solo diners feel like an afterthought – but not here. It only added to the drama and delight of the evening. 🍱 “The Journey” Tasting Menu – A Culinary Adventure I ordered the “Journey” tasting menu based on recommendations, and it did not disappoint. I won’t try to sound like a food critic, but yes – the food was delicious, and the experience was pure joy. I’d always wanted to try Lucky Cat, and it lived up to the hype – that cherry popcorn was a fun, flavorful start 🍒 I added the GFC (Golden Fried Chicken? Guess I’ll Find Out!) and duck buns – and WOW, loved them! 🦆🥟 A friendly warning for solo diners: the duck buns come as a set of 6. Come hungry! ⏱️ Pace & Personalization The pacing was good, though I’d have preferred a slightly slower, more relaxed flow between dishes. That said, when I asked to slow things down – they listened. And that’s what matters. 🥩 One Letdown – The Pork Chop The only dish that didn’t meet the mark in appearance, flavor, or quality was the pork chop. It was dry, underseasoned, and didn’t live up to the rest of the menu. Sadly, it came toward the end and slightly dimmed the overall satisfaction. Maybe it needed more juiciness or an earlier spot in the lineup. 🍰 A Sweet & Satisfying Finish Dessert, however, was fantastic. A moment to smile, look up, and just… savor. 💰 Final Thoughts on Value The bill reflected a premium experience – and while everyone judges cost vs. quality differently, I felt the overall experience was worth it. Yes, the entrance was underwhelming. Yes, there were small issues (all resolved). Yes, the dry pork was a letdown. But in the grand scheme – the ambiance, the sky-high views, and most of the delicious food made this one of my best dining experiences ever! #DiningInTheSky #LondonRestaurants #TastingMenuJourney #SkyHighViews
