Dining Journal | Italian Restaurant in Holborn, London
My carb-loving brain decided it was time for some Italian cuisine 🍝. Since I had plans to visit two small museums in Holborn in the afternoon, I looked up a nearby Italian restaurant in my 📕 that had a Google rating of 4.8. Not bad!! My friends didn’t steer me wrong this time. (Sometimes I do get disappointed, but I’m always willing to trust them again!) Personal Taste Review (Feel free to disagree!): 🔸 Starter: Pan-fried Shrimp/Artichokes/Asparagus – Con Gamberi E Carciofi £17.9 This was super palatable for Chinese taste buds! The first bite almost felt like a spicy and sour stir-fry from back home. The restaurant recommended we get some bread to go with the sauce, but we decided to save room for pasta. After finishing the dish, I totally regretted it. Unlike the usual butter and cheese combo, the bread would have added a unique flavor. 🥪 🔸 Pasta: Tagliatelle Burrata (V) £23.5 I went with this one based on a friend’s recommendation, and my cheese-loving heart was delighted!! It had a slight hint of spice, but not too much. Drizzling extra olive oil on top made it even more aromatic! 🥬 🔸 Risotto: Risotto Ai Funghi Porcini (V) £24.9 It was just okay. I got tired of it after a few bites. Maybe it’s because I’ve never been a huge fan of the slightly undercooked texture of risotto. Considering the price, I’d go for something else next time. 🍳 💰 Average Cost: £30-40 🔔 Reservations: Not necessary for lunch. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon without any issues. They do have a branch on Oxford Street, but that one requires a reservation. #LondonRestaurant #ItalianCuisine #HiddenGem #LondonWeekend #LondonEats #HolbornDining
