Dining Under a Leopard’s Gaze in Denver!! 😳🍽️
The restaurant is called Buckhorn Exchange, established in 1893—that’s 132 years of history! 🕰️🏭 The walls are decorated with real animal trophies 🐆🦌, all from hunting expeditions (according to our server). Here’s what we tried: 1️⃣ Appetizer: Rocky Mountain Oysters 🐂🍳 Actually deep-fried buffalo testicles 😅! Americans love frying unusual foods—just like the alligator I tried in New Orleans 🐊🔥. After frying, the original flavor and texture are pretty much gone. 2️⃣ Main Course 1: Buffalo Prime Rib 🥩🌿 Cooked medium—juicy, tender, and no weird gamey taste. Tastes similar to regular beef! Our favorite dish 😍👌. 3️⃣ Main Course 2: Elk & Two Quail 🦌🐦 The elk was dry (as warned by the server), so we went for medium-rare. Still tough and not great 😬. The quail was tender with only wings and legs left—bone-in but easy to eat! 4️⃣ Sides: Soup or Salad 🍲🥗 We tried both soups—one brown bean soup and one spicy red soup. Both were overly salty and barely edible 😣. We left most of it. Overall, it was a fascinating experience! 🤩🎯 If you’re curious about wild game and historic vibes, it’s worth a visit. Life’s too short not to try something weird and wonderful! 🍻❤️ #USA #Denver#WildGame #DenverFood #BuckhornExchange #UniqueEats #AmericanCuisine #FoodAdventure
