Dining with a Real Ghost in New Orleans 👻🍷
While strolling along the Mississippi River, we stumbled upon a beautifully decorated restaurant and decided to try their 3-course menu with cocktails — a solid 7/10 for flavor! But the real story unfolded as I browsed their website during the meal… The mansion that houses the restaurant once belonged to the socialite Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan, who adored his home but couldn’t resist the thrill of gambling. In 1814, he bet the house in a poker game — and lost. Devastated, he took his own life on the second floor before having to move out. Now, his spirit is considered a permanent resident ghost 👻. A seat is reserved for him at the table (Photo 1), set with a fresh glass of wine poured daily 🍷 He’s said to wander the Seance Lounge on the second floor (just ask the staff how to get there!) There’s also a second ghost at the bar known for throwing glasses — I got too scared to check, but brave souls can visit the women’s restroom across from the bar 😨 Despite the chills, the food was delicious — don’t miss the Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée! 🍮 📍 Muriel’s Jackson Square 801 Chartres St, New Orleans, LA 70116 A truly haunting — but unforgettable — NOLA experience! #NewOrleans #HauntedRestaurant #MurielsJacksonSquare #GhostStories #NOLAEats #TravelThrills #CreoleCuisine
