Discovering Nottingham
I visited Nottingham briefly before, but this time I truly discovered how fun it is! 🎉 5 Highlights: 1️⃣ Deer Park & Wollaton Hall near the University A perfect spot for walking, sunbathing, or relaxing on the big lawn 🌿🦌. You can spot deer grazing from a distance! The lawn in front of Wollaton Hall offers great views and makes a cool photo op with the "Batman house" 🦇📸. 2️⃣ Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem – The Oldest Inn in England (since 1189 AD) A pub built right under the castle 🍻⛰️. The cave-like ceilings create a unique atmosphere—great for hanging out with friends or a romantic drink 💑. Plenty of seating inside! 3️⃣ Canalhouse A unique pub with an actual boat inside! 🚢🍺 Though you can’t board it, having a drink next to it is a magical experience. 4️⃣ City of Caves The entrance looks super sketchy—hidden under a bridge, dark and grimy 😅. But the tour is fantastic! You descend into caves to explore Nottingham’s underground past 🕳️🔦. Knowledgeable guides share fascinating stories, and kids would love the interactive experience! Takes 45 mins to 1 hour—book tickets online 🎫. 5️⃣ Solo Grano Best to call and reserve a table in advance 📞👌. We always end our trips with an Italian meal 🍝🇮🇹! We had an artichoke pizza and salmon linguine—their Capricciosa pizza is highly recommended! 🍕🔥 Topped perfectly with ham, olives, and artichokes—so good I wanted more pizza instead of pasta! A city full of surprises and charm—highly recommend giving Nottingham more time! #DayTripFromBirmingham #BritishTownWalk
